The Full Day gives you more room between departure and return than our shorter excursions. A leisurely lunch, a longer sail, and breaks at anchor can all fit into the outing without rushing from one activity to another.
This is a skippered sailing charter, so you do not need boating experience or a license. After a safety briefing, settle into a comfortable spot and watch the coastline unfold. Jean-Luc, your captain, has been sailing in the Tamarindo and Potrero area since 1992. His local knowledge helps shape the route and the selection of suitable anchorages.
The itinerary follows the conditions rather than a fixed checklist of destinations. Wind, currents, and visibility guide the captain’s decisions. Navigation, Water Activities, and Evening Light
The Full Day lets you alternate between navigation, swimming, and rest. Your group can move between conversation, photography, and activities without everyone having to follow the same pace. Participation is optional: your ideal outing might also involve reading while others swim.
Sailing Along the Guanacaste Coast
Watch the shoreline from a different perspective as you leave Playa Flamingo behind. When the wind allows, Mowana travels under sail. The Buccaneer 33 has three hulls and large trampolines where you can stretch out above the water. Shaded areas and beanbags offer other places to sit.
This first part of the trip is also a chance to settle into the rhythm of the boat. There is no need to start with an activity: watching the shore recede, feeling the breeze, and enjoying the view with a cool drink are part of the pleasure of being aboard.
Snorkeling and Swimming
Snorkeling equipment is provided. Swimming spots are selected according to conditions rather than a promise of a particular beach or reef. Visibility can change, and the crew will explain whether entering the water is appropriate at each stop.
For families, water activities should match each child’s swimming ability and confidence. Adults should supervise their children and follow the instructions given on board. Let our team know about any concerns before departure so that comfort and safety remain part of the planning.
Tropical fish, rays, sea turtles, or dolphins may sometimes be seen during the trip. Marine life is unpredictable, and animal sightings cannot be guaranteed. Any encounter is an opportunity to observe wildlife rather than an advertised stop on the itinerary.

Paddleboarding and Fishing
One paddleboard is available to share, along with fishing equipment. Ask for guidance before using either, especially if it is your first attempt. Trying something new can be part of the fun, but there is no pressure to join every activity.
These breaks let everyone choose what suits them. Some people may want another swim while others prefer a quiet seat with a view of the surrounding coastline. You have the freedom to sit out an activity without missing the company of your group.
The Return Cruise and Evening Light
The afternoon leaves room to revisit something you enjoyed or spend more time resting on deck. Tell the crew your preferences; the route and conditions determine what is possible.
As the light softens, take in the final stretch of your charter. The return is scheduled for 5:30 PM. Sunset timing, colors, and visibility vary with the season and weather, so the view will be different on every outing.
Keep your camera nearby if photography is part of your trip. The changing light can give the same shoreline a different appearance on the journey back.
Food and Drinks Throughout Your Trip
The Full Day menu includes morning snacks, a barbecue lunch, dessert, coffee, and afternoon fruit. Food is served at different moments, giving your group breaks between navigation and activities.
Morning Snacks
Start with fresh fruit and savory bites: mini wraps with egg, mayonnaise, lettuce, and cilantro; pico de gallo with chips; and cucumber and carrot sticks with dip.
Barbecue Lunch
Lunch features marinated barbecue chicken with rice salad containing nuts. Fruit jelly follows for dessert, with coffee and cinnamon rosquillas to finish. Fresh fruit is served again in the afternoon, offering a lighter snack before the return.
Your meal is served aboard, without returning to shore. Take a break over lunch together and decide how you would like to spend the afternoon.
Drinks Selection
Choose from water, sodas, juices, beer, and red, white, or rosé wine. Cava, rum, gin, vodka, tequila, guaro, and cocktails are also part of the selection. Whether you prefer a glass of wine with lunch or a non-alcoholic option between swims, refreshments are available throughout the excursion.

Full-Day Tour Departure from Playa Flamingo
Your meeting point is Playa Flamingo Beach, in front of PLEAMAR restaurant. Boarding is arranged from the sand, rather than from inside Marina Flamingo.
Please arrive a few minutes before the 9:30 AM departure. The return is scheduled for 5:30 PM, for an eight-hour excursion.
If you are staying in Tamarindo, Potrero, or near Playa Conchal, plan your journey ahead of time. Transportation is not included, but our team can recommend local providers if you need help organizing a ride.
Bring a swimsuit, towel, sun protection, a hat, and sunglasses. A protective bag is useful for phones and personal belongings that need to stay dry. Keep frequently used items easy to reach, particularly sun protection and your camera.
